I want to throw silver glitter all over 2013!

Happy Sew Year Everyone!

I hope your Christmas was great and the New Year has been amazing for you so far. I have had such an AMAZING past week, and it couldn't be a greater start to 2013! We celebrated the first day of this year by going north of Perth to Lancelin and sand boarding! It was probably one of the FUNNEST things I have done in so long. I couldn't get Paul Kelly's song 'All the dumb things' out of my head from the Coca Cola commercial where everyone is sand boarding on their esky lids!  Sand boarding was actually one of my goals to do this year as filled out in my Make 2013 an Incredible Year Workbook, so yay! Things are already happening!

And just when I thought things were already pretty awesome, I had a surprise visit from a great friend, Amber who just flew in from Singapore after being away for 6 months. I was definitely in shock for a few moments!!
So while she was here I thought I'd put her to work and get her to model some dresses I made awhile ago but never got around to photographing.

This polka dot dress was actually made at the start of 2012 and remained hanging up unhemmed in my sewing room until November when I packed everything up to move to Perth. Talk about procrastination! I used the Burda Young pattern in the below pic and liked option A, especially the back triangle shapes and the narrow cut of the bodice front.
I took my bust measurements from the pattern (which is the only measurement it gives you to use) and so when it was done, it was actually too small for me:( Another case of me being too lazy to make toiles, which I actually aim to do this year!

Here is beautiful Amber modelling the dress for me:

Happy New Year all! I'm so excited and I hope you are too! Stitch all your dreams up this year. xx E
